The Instituto Técnico de Capacitación y Productividad (INTECAP), was established on 19 May 1972, by the Guatemalan business sector to promote human resources development and training in the country, as well as to provide technical assistance for the improvement of productivity in all economic sectors. The solution proposed by the INTECAP is based on need to reduce training time, optimize resources, and facilitate individualized certification processes for labour market integration. It is based on the design and implementation of a computer system that facilitates self-evaluation and cross-evaluation processes, identifying the gaps that need to be closed, designing optimal learning pathways, and providing users with all the necessary resources to close the skills gap and get certified.
