Door-to-door and telephone salespersons solicit business for
an establishment, particularly from households, by going from
door to door or by telephoning.
Tasks include -
(a) giving details of various goods or services and of the
firm's terms of sale either by going from door to door or
by telephoning;
(b) demonstrating goods by pointing to their main
characteristics or showing how they work;
(c) taking notes of orders received and forwarding them to the
firm;
(d) distributing advertising literature or leaving samples;
(e) collecting payment of instalments, if necessary;
(f) performing related tasks;
(g) supervising other workers.
