This unit group covers glass and ceramics plant operators
not classified elsewhere in Minor group 813, Glass and ceramics
plant operators.
For instance, here should be classified those who are
engaged in operating and monitoring machinery and equipment used
to mix ingredients for glass-making or for the preparation of
clay, glaze and abrasives, or which extrude molten glass in
order to form fibreglass filaments.
In such cases tasks would include -
(a) operating and monitoring machines which mix ingredients for
glass-making;
(b) operating and monitoring machines which prepare clay for the
production of ceramics and bricks;
(c) operating and monitoring machines for making glaze or
abrasives
(d) operating and monitoring machines which extrude molten glass
to form fibreglass filaments ;
(e) performing related tasks;
(f) supervising other workers.
