Charcoal burners and related workers carry out the necessary
operations to convert wood into charcoal or to extract crude
turpentine from wood, using traditional techniques.
Tasks include -
(a) operating a simple kiln to convert wood into charcoal by a
slow-burning process.
(b) operating a simple digester or still at the tree-felling
site to obtain or distil crude wood turpentine-,
(c) performing related tasks;
(d) supervising other workers.
