Travel attendants and travel stewards render personal
services to ensure the comfort and safety of passengers, serve
meals and beverages, or plan and coordinate housekeeping and
social activities on ships.
Tasks include -
(a) greeting passengers entering aircraft, conducting them to
their seats, ensuring that seat-belts are fastened and -no
smoking" and similar signs are obeyed;
(b) explaining the use of safety equipment such as life belts
and oxygen masks;
(c) distributing reading material, headphones, blankets and
similar items, and answering passengers' inquiries;
(d) serving pre-prepared meals as well as beverages;
(e) selling duty-free goods;
(f) administering minor medical aid to passengers in need;
(g) taking appropriate action in case of emergencies or
accidents;
(h) taking care of passengers at airports;
(i) taking care of general needs and comfort of ship's
passengers, including keeping cabins tidy and serving meals
in them, on request;
