Dentists conduct research, improve or develop concepts,
theories and operational methods, and apply medical knowledge

Tasks include -
(a) conducting research into dental and related disorders and
illnesses and preventive or curative methods;
(b) making diagnoses, advising on and giving necessary dental
treatment;
(c) giving surgical, medical and other forms of treatment for
particular types of dental and oral diseases and disorders;
(d) participating in public action to maintain or improve
standards of oral health and dental care:
(e) preparing scientific papers and reports;
(f) performing related tasks,
(g) supervising other workers.
