    Training and planning workshop for the Cambodian National Employment Agency officers on the promotion of SaverAsia app

    On 30 June 2021, TRIANGLE in ASEAN hosted an online Training and planning workshop for the Cambodian National Employment Agency (NEA) officers on the promotion of the SaverAsia app, in partnership with DMAG and NEA. During the full-day training, NEA officers learned to use the SaverAsia app to find information about remittance services and financial education and developed outreach event plans for each NEA Job Center for the promotion of SaverAsia.

    ILO trains trainers on financial education in Iraq

    6 - 10 June 2021

    The training equips future trainers with knowledge in financial management topics so they can enhance the financial skills of young people and entrepreneurs, under an ILO initiative to improve livelihoods and self-employment of host communities and refugees in Iraq.

    The digitization of the world of work is fundamentally transforming how refugees can make a livelihood and obtain employment. A rapidly expanding global digital economy harbours countless new opportunities but it also poses a range of challenges and risks. A new report by the International Labour Organization (ILO) now explores the growing role of digital economies for refugees, including case studies from Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.

  2. Event

    Market-based livelihoods interventions for refugees and host communities

    19 April - 21 May 2021

    This training course supports practitioners working with refugee communities in the design of livelihood interventions based on a solid understanding of market trends and demand. It applies the "Making markets work for the poor" (M4P) approach and draws upon the experiences and lessons learnt from joint UNHCR-ILO pilot projects that have tested the added value of market assessments and value-chain analyses in promoting the livelihoods of refugees in different countries.

    Global Forum for Responsible Recruitment

    The forum, organized by International Labour Organization (ILO), the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Institute for Human Rights and Business (IHRB) will gather global brands, suppliers, recruitment agencies, governments, employers’ and workers' organisations, and intergovernmental and civil society organisations to take stock, nurture ideas, foster engagement, and inspire action.

    Spotlight on Gender-sensitive Reporting in Journalism

    The joint ILO-UN Women Safe and Fair Programme, as part of the EU-UN Spotlight Initiative, will host a webinar to discuss and share good practices for responsible and ethical reporting of labour migration and gender-based violence and discrimination against migrant workers among media professionals. Safe and Fair will also launch the Media-friendly glossary on migration: Women migrant workers and ending violence against women edition. The glossary serves a guide for journalists, reporters, researchers and trainers who conduct trainings or write about women’s labour migration, and who write about violence against women in the context of migration.
