The impacts of the Ukrainian crisis on employment and livelihoods of refugees and IDPs and decent work responses

The Russian aggression in Ukraine has resulted in a devastating humanitarian crisis also causing severe socio-economic impacts. With an exodus of more than 6.8 million refugees and with over 8 million people internally displaced since 24 February 2022, this conflict has also triggered one of the largest and fastest forced population movement since the 2nd World War.

The International Labour Organization is pleased to invite you to the online event “The impacts of the Ukrainian crisis on employment and livelihoods of refugees and IDPs and decent work responses” which will take place on 20 June from 14:00 to 16:00 pm CEST.

The webinar is jointly organized by ILO-CO Budapest, ILO MIGRANT and ITCILO, as a follow up to the e-learning on “Access to decent work for refugees and other forcibly displaced persons”.

The webinar will discuss the impact of the crisis in Ukraine, showing how labour rights and decent work conditions can be upheld in a situation of war. The webinar will also address how to ensure protection and facilitate access to the labour market for the displaced populations and the type of labour solutions and safeguard that can be put forward.
