The 6th Summit of the Cooperatives of the Americas took place from 24 to 27 October 2022, in Luque (Asunción -Paraguay). At the summit co-operators from the region had the opportunity to debate the future of the cooperative movement based on the new world context and its role within the international community. ILO COOP Manager was one of the two main speakers on the cooperative identity session on October 25, 2022.
Didier Drogba, ILO and FIFPRO raise awareness among young football players of the risks of emigration

A look back at the launch of the campaign to raise awareness among young Ivorian football players of the risks of ill-prepared emigration. The campaign is being run jointly by the International Labour Organisation (ILO), Didier Drogba and his Foundation, the International Federation of Professional Footballers' Associations (FIFPRO), and former Ivorian international footballers.
High-level session looks at Just Energy Transitions to accelerate achieving of the SDGs

Held during the 3rd edition of the Finance in Common Summit 2022, co-organized by the African Development Bank and the European Investment Bank, the session focused on the transition away from fossil fuels to renewable energy technologies to accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Speakers highlighted, among others, how to steer investments to maximise the impact on jobs, create quality jobs with access to social protection, manage risk and protect vulnerable populations to make the energy transition ‘Just’ for all. The Summit was held from 18-20 October.

Proposal for an ILO Policy Observatory on Work in the Digital Economy
Regulating for artificial intelligence (AI) across societies will not be easy. Variations in policymaking approaches for its development and governance across the world could lead to significant uncertainty for the world of work. Our proposal for the ‘ILO Policy Observatory on Work in the Digital Economy’ is intended to identify the current state of play; to assess the role of various actors including companies, civil society and states; and to analyse the implications of shifts in AI regulation for decent work in the global digital economy.
