ILO and the UNTFSSE will participate in the OECD event “The Social and Solidarity Economy: From the Margins to the Mainstream”

The event will take place virtually from 13 to 16 September 2021, from 13:00 to 16:00 CEST

The high-level virtual conference "The Social and Solidarity Economy: From the Margins to the Mainstream" will be the first international conference part of the OECD Global Action. It is expected to bring together hundreds of policy makers, practitioners, and experts working on the social and solidarity economy to:
  • Learn more about key considerations when designing legal frameworks and measuring social impact, including based on findings of new OECD research on these topics.
  • Discuss new OECD evidence on the role of social and solidarity economy organisations in rebuilding better, by raising their visibility and providing the tools to achieve social impact.
  • Network with other international practitioners, experts and policy makers, through highly interactive roundtables, breakout sessions and digital application networking features.
The conference will feature high-level plenaries and panel discussions, as well as interactive and practitioner-focused sessions.

Mr. Guy Ryder, the ILO Director General, will participate with opening remarks, while Mr. Vic Van Vuuren, ILO Enterprises Director and UNTFSSE Chair will intervene in the session « Building back better: the social economy as a driving force for change ».
