    The 42nd UNTFSSE meeting was held virtually on 7 March 2023. It brought together around 30 participants from seven member (ILO, UNRISD, ECLAC, UNDP, UNDESA, UNCTAD and OECD) and eleven observer organizations (Catalyst2030, CIRIEC, CSEND, EMES, EURICSE, DIESIS, GSEF, Euclid Network, ICA, SSE International Forum, RIPESS).

    ILO holds kick-off briefing session for the project on the social and solidarity economy in Kyrgyzstan

    20 December 2022

    The briefing session was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan to introduce the Strengthening the Social and Solidarity Economy in Asia project to the ILO Constituents and social and solidarity economy (SSE) partners. The participants in the session included representatives from related government ministries, workers’ organizations, SSE institutions, and other relevant stakeholders.

    On November 24, 2022, the European Confederation of Industrial and Service cooperatives (CECOP) launched the Italian translation of the report that documents how workers’ and social cooperatives can assist workers and enterprises in the transition to the formal economy in Europe.

    Advancing the 2030 Agenda through the Social and Solidarity Economy

    The social and solidarity economy (SSE) is a dynamic force for change that is key to realizing the paradigm shift called for in the 2030 Agenda. This Position Paper of the United Nations Inter-Agency Task Force on Social and Solidarity Economy (UNTFSSE) examines the contribution of the SSE to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), identifies policy and legal reforms that can foster an institutional environment conducive to SSE, and calls attention to the need for advocacy and policy innovation at multiple levels of governance – local, regional, national and international.
