    42nd Regular Meeting of The UN Task Force on Social and Solidarity Economy (UNTFSSE)

    The 42nd UNTFSSE meeting was held virtually on 7 March 2023. It brought together around 30 participants from seven member (ILO, UNRISD, ECLAC, UNDP, UNDESA, UNCTAD and OECD) and eleven observer organizations (Catalyst2030, CIRIEC, CSEND, EMES, EURICSE, DIESIS, GSEF, Euclid Network, ICA, SSE International Forum, RIPESS).

It brought together around 50 participants from seven member (ILO, UNRISD, ECLAC, UNDP, UNDESA, UNCTAD and OECD), eleven observer organizations (Catalyst2030, CIRIEC, CSEND, EMES, EURICSE, DIESIS, GSEF, Euclid Network, ICA, SSE International Forum, RIPESS) and two resource persons.

    On November 14th, the United Nations in Uruguay and the National Co-operativism Institute (INACOOP) held an open dialogue to discuss challenges, opportunities and new scenarios for coooperatives and the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) in the country.

    ILO participates in the 6th Summit of the Cooperatives of the Americas

    31 October 2022

    The 6th Summit of the Cooperatives of the Americas took place from 24 to 27 October 2022, in Luque (Asunción -Paraguay). At the summit co-operators from the region had the opportunity to debate the future of the cooperative movement based on the new world context and its role within the international community. ILO COOP Manager was one of the two main speakers on the cooperative identity session on October 25, 2022.

It brought together more than 40 participants from eight member (ILO, UNRISD, ESCAP, ECLAC, UNDP, UNDESA, UNCTAD and OECD), twelve observer organizations (Catalyst2030, CIRIEC, CSEND, EESC, EMES, EURICSE, DIESIS, GSEF, Euclid Network, ICA, SSE International Forum, RIPESS) and two resource persons.

    The social and solidarity economy (SSE) is a dynamic force for change that is key to realizing the paradigm shift called for in the 2030 Agenda. This Position Paper of the United Nations Inter-Agency Task Force on Social and Solidarity Economy (UNTFSSE) examines the contribution of the SSE to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), identifies policy and legal reforms that can foster an institutional environment conducive to SSE, and calls attention to the need for advocacy and policy innovation at multiple levels of governance – local, regional, national and international.
