ILO and Gallup to publish new report on HIV/AIDS discrimination

GENEVA (ILO News) – The International Labour Organization (ILO), in collaboration with Gallup, the global analytics and polling organization, will publish a report on 30 November that highlights the level of stigma and discrimination faced by people living with HIV and AIDS.

The ILO Global HIV Discrimination in the World of Work Survey, covering 50 countries, examines the causes of persistent HIV-related stigma and discrimination in the world of work.

It will be released ahead of World Aids Day, on 1 December.

For UNOG-accredited correspondents, an embargoed virtual press briefing will take place on Tuesday 30 November from 13:00 – 14:00 GMT (14:00 – 15:00 CET) Wednesday. Login details will be sent to journalists ahead of the briefing.

Recognized regional journalists will be able to follow the virtual briefing via YouTube. The link will be sent in advance.

The report and all associated materials will be under STRICT EMBARGO until Tuesday 30 November at 14:00 GMT (15:00 CET).

The findings will be presented by Chidi King, Chief of the ILO’s Gender, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion branch; and Andrew Dugan, Gallup research consultant.

Recordings of the briefing will be available to the UNOG press corps and registered journalists after the press conference.
