  2. Business and Decent Work: an introduction to the MNE Declaration

    The E-learning module provides an interactive opportunity to become knowledgeable about the ILO Tripartite Declaration of Principles concerning Multinational Enterprises and Social Policy (MNE Declaration) and to learn how its recommendations can be put into practice to address a range of labour and employment issues. This 40 minutes, self-guided module provides an overview of the MNE Declaration, interactive case studies, a summary of related international instruments and frameworks, and a list of relevant resources.

    The Day is observed each year on 3 December to encourage better understanding of issues facing people with disabilities, and mobilize support for their quest for dignity, rights and full inclusion in society. This year's theme - Break barriers, open doors: for an inclusive society and development for all - provides an opportunity to further awareness of disability and the removal of all types of barriers - attitudinal, physical, social, economic and cultural - to realizing the full and equal participation of disabled persons in all spheres of society - education and training at the workplace and in politics, the arts and social activities in general.

  2. CSR Roundtable - Promoting Responsible Investment

    The annual CSR Roundtable is a joint initiative co-organized by the ILO, UNCTAD and OECD, that this year was hosted by the ILO. The Roundtable brings together CSR experts from international organizations, development agencies, Governments representatives as well as leading academics and is aimed at promoting policy coherence among the international organizations. This year’s theme is “Promoting Responsible Investment”.

    On 11 October 2013, the first European Union (EU)–Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) Seminar on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) took place in Brussels as a joint initiative of the European Commission External Action Service (EEAS) and CELAC. This high-level seminar was organized as a follow-up to the Declaration adopted by the European, Latin American and Caribbean Heads of State and Government who met during the 1st EU-CELAC Summit / 7th EU-LAC Summit Government in Santiago (Chile) on 26-27 January 2013 to address an Alliance for Sustainable Development to Promote Investments of Social and Environmental Quality.
