Articles 2 to 5 of the Convention. Seafarers’ identity documents. With reference to its previous comment, the Committee notes the Government’s indication that: (i) the situation with regard to the application of the Convention has changed little since its last report and the preliminary draft of the Grand Ducal Regulation has not yet been adopted by the Council of State. This draft legislation is intended to amend the Grand Ducal Regulation of 8 April 1991 governing the seafarers’ book with a view to modifying the system of the service book and integrating it with the seafarers’ identity document (SID) for greater coherence; (ii) no identity document has yet been requested or issued; and (iii) as at 30 June 2022, there were seven national or resident seafarers in the national database. None of these seafarers appear to have been prejudiced due to the fact that they do not have a seafarers’ identity document in conformity with the Convention. While noting this information, the Committee requests the Government to provide information on any further measures adopted to give effect to the provisions of the Convention.
