Repetition Article 1 of the Convention. Legislation. In its previous comments, the Committee requested the Government to take all necessary steps to amend section 108 of Labour Act No. 23/2007, which establishes only the right to equal pay for the same work, so that it fully reflects the principle of equal remuneration for men and women for work of equal value. The Committee notes that in its report the Government mentions no developments in this area. The Committee recalls that, in its general observation of 2006, it stressed that the concept of “work of equal value” includes but goes beyond equal remuneration for “equal”, the “same” or “similar” work and also encompasses work that is of an entirely different nature which is nevertheless of equal value. The Committee therefore once again asks the Government to take all necessary steps to amend section 108 of Labour Act No. 23/2007, so that this provision fully reflects the principle of equal remuneration for men and women for work of equal value. The Committee encourages the Government, should it deem appropriate, to seek technical assistance from the ILO on this matter. The Committee is raising other points in a request addressed directly to the Government.
