Articles 1–3 of the Convention. Contribution of the employment service to employment promotion. The Committee notes the information provided by the Government in its report indicating that there are 14 public employment offices in the country. The Government indicates that, between 1 March 2001 and 31 March 2015, the overall number of applicants registered with the employment office totalled 2,166,844 persons and 262,292 placements were made. The Committee requests the Government to provide further information on the functioning of the employment offices. It also requests the Government to continue to provide statistical information concerning the number of public employment offices established, the number of applications for employment received, the number of vacancies notified, and the number of persons placed in employment by such offices.
While acknowledging the complexity of the situation prevailing on the ground due to the presence of armed groups and armed conflict in the country, the Committee trusts that the Government will make all efforts to bring its law and practice into conformity with the Convention.
