Effect given to the recommendations of the Committee and the Governing Body
  1. 141. The Committee last examined this case at its November 2001 meeting when it requested the Government and the complainant to confirm that all claims pending before the Revindication Commission have been settled. It further requested the Government to keep it informed on developments concerning the status of the Employees’ Recreation Fund and the future regulation of the legal status of property of the former Trade Unions’ Association and other trade union organizations dissolved under martial law [see 326th Report, paras. 143-147].
  2. 142. In its communication dated 17 September 2002, the Government provides detailed information on the discharge of non-cash liabilities resulting from decisions of the Social Revindication Commission in the form of treasury bonds. As on 10 September 2002, there were three proceedings on restitution of assets forfeited by trade unions and social organizations under martial law conducted before the Commission and nine proceedings before the Supreme Administrative Court. The Government adds that it will keep the Committee informed if the legislative works on regulation of the status of the Employees’ Recreation Fund, which had not been finished by the parliamentary elections, are recommenced.
  3. 143. The Committee takes due note of this information and requests the Government to continue to keep it informed in respect of the remaining claims pending before the Social Revindication Commission and any further developments in respect of the status of the Employees’ Recreation Fund.
