Allegations

The complainant organization alleges, in relation to the enterprise SC Chimica SA: (i) the dismissal of Mr. Martin Nicolae, President of the Free Trade Union “Plastor” Orastie, on grounds of his trade union activities; (ii) the subsequent denial of access of the union leader to the workplace where the representative union is based; (iii) further anti-union practices such as the display of disparaging communiqués and the filing of a union dissolution request with the court; and (iv) the recent suspension of two union leaders prior to a strike, accompanied by the denial of their access to the workplace. Furthermore, the complainant organization alleges, in relation to the company SC Oltchim SA Ramnicu Valcea, the display of disparaging communiqués by the bankruptcy trustees to discredit the representative union Free Trade Union “Oltchim” Ramnicu Valcea, and the promotion of the establishment of new unions at the enterprise level.
