The complainant organizations allege that several officers of the Haft Tapeh Sugar Cane Workers’ Union had been arrested, convicted and handed down prison sentences in connection with the organization of a strike in 2007 and the creation of a union in June 2008. The officers concerned were also dismissed from the Haft Tapeh Sugar plantation and refinery
