The Committee notes the information provided by the Government on the consultations held during the reporting period on matters regarding international labour standards. The Committee notes with interest the ratification of the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006 (MLC, 2006), and the Work in Fishing Convention, 2007 (No. 188), on 5 May and 3 May 2016, respectively, and the involvement of the social partners in the legislative process. The Committee further notes that the Estonian ILO Council has also supported the ratification of the Protocol of 2014 to the Forced Labour Convention, 1930 in October 2014. The Government indicates that the ratification process of the 2014 Protocol has commenced and that the social partners were consulted in the process of drafting the legislation necessary for ratification. The Committee also notes from the report that the Estonian ILO Council meets to provide input to the reports made by the Government under article 22 of the ILO Constitution. The social partners are also asked to provide comments to the questionnaires concerning items on the agenda of the International Labour Conference. The Committee requests the Government to continue to provide updated information on the content and outcome of the tripartite consultations held on the matters covered by Article 5(1) of the Convention, as well as on the activities of the Estonian ILO Council with respect to matters covered by the Convention.
