Articles 7 and 8 of the Convention. Statistics of the economically active population, employment and unemployment. The Government provides in its report information on labour market surveys and the corresponding links to websites to obtain relevant data and metadata. The Committee notes that the results of the 2011 Population Census are publicly available on the Hellenic Statistical Authority’s website, along with the relevant methodological notes. The Committee invites the Government to provide information on any developments towards the implementation of the Resolution concerning statistics of work, employment and labour underutilization (Resolution I), adopted by the 19th International Conference of Labour Statisticians (October 2013).
Article 9(2). Statistics of time rates of wages and normal hours of work. The Committee once again requests the Government to provide information on measures taken in the field of statistics of time rates of wages and normal hours of work by occupation or branch of economic activity.
Article 11. Statistics of average labour cost. The Committee notes that the latest Labour Cost Index figures available in Eurostat (by branch of economic activity) refer to 2008. Eurostat also disseminates on its website annual data on average hourly labour costs (currently available for 2014). Referring to Article 5 of the Convention, the Committee requests that the Government provide updated statistics and metadata on average labour costs as soon as possible.
Article 14. Statistics of occupational injuries. The Government indicates that the Accidents at Work Survey provides statistical data on occupational accidents in the country and that the source of these data is the Social Insurance Institute (IKA), to which insured workers submit their occupational accidents notification forms. The Committee also notes that from 2015, with 2014 as reference year, ELSTAT will be required to provide Eurostat with additional statistics on the causes and circumstances of accidents, as well as statistics on the occupational accidents of public servants and persons insured with social insurance funds other than the IKA. The Committee requests the Government to provide available statistical and methodological information on occupational injuries. Please also provide information on the consultations held with the representative organizations of employers and workers (Article 3), as well as a detailed description regarding publication of methodological information by the competent national body under Article 6.
Article 15. Statistics of industrial disputes. The Government indicates that the statistics on labour disputes are published in the Annual Activity Report of the labour inspectorate based on the records of the local labour inspection units. The Committee requests that the Government indicate whether statistics are in line with the Resolution concerning statistics of strikes, lockouts and other action due to labour disputes, adopted by the 15th International Conference of Labour Statisticians in 1993. Please also supply available statistics on strikes and lockouts, as defined in the abovementioned resolution, along with a methodological description of their compilation.
