Repetition Article 3(2) of the Convention. The Committee noted that an X-ray examination of the lungs is compulsory at the medical examination prior to recruitment of all young workers under 21 years of age for employment underground in mines or in quarries. It requests the Government to indicate the provisions requiring an X-ray of the lungs on the occasion of the initial medical examination and, when regarded as medically necessary, on the occasion of subsequent re-examinations.Article 4(4). The Committee noted that the personnel departments in companies (including mines and quarries) keep records with dates of birth, duly attested, indications on the nature of jobs and training certificates for all persons employed or working underground. The Committee requests the Government to indicate whether the certificates confirming fitness for employment for persons under 21 years of age form part of the data kept in such records. Please indicate the provisions regulating the keeping of these records in mines and quarries.Article 5. Please indicate the consultations which have taken place with organizations of employers and workers with a view to determining general policies of implementation of this Convention and before adopting regulations in pursuance of it.
