Article 7 of the Convention. Statistics. With reference to its previous comments, the Committee notes the information that while no case of lead poisoning could be found in the official records in the country, the Government indicates that it was aware that official records only recorded information concerning a very small part of the working population in Togo as painters most often were independent workers. The Committee also notes the reference made by the Government to the conclusions of the technical assistance mission to Lomé in 2011 concerning the need to develop appropriate tools to collect statistical data in the country and that the planned modernization of labour administration in the country would also focus on the need to improve the collection, management and use of relevant information in the country. The Committee hopes that planned improvements for the collection of data in the country soon will be implemented, and that the Government’s next report will contain statistics on lead poisoning as provided for in Article 7 of the Convention, as well as information on the statistical methods used.
